The following announcement was sent to Patch by Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS).

AACPS currently has four schools without electrical power: Brooklyn Park Elementary, Crofton Woods Elementary, Lake Shore Elementary, and Pershing Hill Elementary. All school-sponsored programs and activities at these four schools are canceled for Monday, July 9. For the status of activities sponsored by other agencies, please contact those agencies. School-sponsored programs and activities at all other AACPS facilities will be held on a normal schedule on July 9.

Twelve-month employees who are still unable to get to their work location on July 9 because of travel, child care, or other hardships are encouraged to utilize annual leave and should notify their supervisor of their intent to do so. Employees at schools impacted by power outages should contact their supervisor for information on their July 9 work assignment. All emergency and essential personnel are required to report to their duty locations at their assigned time.
