Alec Lemon Waits for NFL Call

The former Arundel High wide receiver is expected to be drafted into the NFL this week.

The former Arundel High and Syracuse wide receiver will sit and wait as the NFL Draft kicks off Thursday.

By most accounts, Lemon is expected to be drafted sometime in rounds four through seven, meaning that his name could be called on Saturday.

The Washington Post reported that the Crofton native will be back home watching the draft with family and friends after spending several months training at various places around the country. He also worked out in front of pro scouts at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.

The Post-Standard in Syracuse reported that the Jacksonville Jaguars and Carolina Panthers have expressed some interest in Lemon, who set receiving records at both Arundel and Syracuse. The newspaper reported that Lemon has benefited from the attention given to Ryan Nassib, another NFL prospect who was the quarterback at Syracuse.
