SUNDAY MORNING: Hurricane Irene made its way though the Maryland area Saturday night into Sunday morning. Now Crofton neighbors are working to clear downed trees and debris. Many communities remain without power. Crofton Patch’s Nicki Mayo hit the streets to see how residents are cleaning up after Hurricane Irene.

Chick-fil-A at the Village at Waugh Chapel displays an "open" sign to let coustomers know they are still open. Just prepared for Hurricane Irene.
Kmart at Crofton Centre boarded up windows  and front entrance in anticipation of Hurricane Irene.
Hurricane Irene wind and rain forced a tree near the Amberfield community to fall into the road across from the CVS. Cory Lyon told Crofton Patch via email "Remnants of tree that fell across 424.  SHA was out to cut it this AM around 6:30."
Hurricane Irene stripped leaves and a branch from this tree near the Village at Waugh Chapel.

Hurricane Irene left some leaves but no major damage to a couple vehicles parked near the Village at Waugh Chapel.

3 PM Waiting for Hurricane Irene in the Crofton Highlands. It was rainy and windy.
SATURDAY 5 PM : The windy is strong and rain continues pouring into Crofton. We grabbed video from Crofton Highlands of water flowing along Judicial Way. We also included shots of backyard flooding and a huge drain near the site of the proposed skate park.

SUNDAY 7:30 AM

Still have power in Chapman Farms. A few pear trees down....one blocking Chapman Road completely. But otherwise, don't see any major damage.
