BASKETBALL: Arundel Boys One Win from Regional Title

The Wildcats topped Meade, 65-57, and will host top-seeded North Point on Friday.

The Arundel boys basketball team advanced to the MPSSAA Class 4A regional final on Tuesday night, topping Meade 65-57. 

The Wildcats are now one win away from the state final four, and will travel to North Point on Friday night with the Class 4A regional title on the line.

Arundel used a big fourth quarter to pull away from the Mustangs, and got 27 points from junior Ryan Hill, the Capital Gazette reported.

Friday's game will be a re-match of last year's regional final, won by North Point 72-52. The game time has not yet been announced. 

The Wildcats remain the only local team remaining the state basketball tourney.

The South River boys lost in the first round, while the South River girls lost last week to North Point in the regional final.
