Coffee enthusiasts who love supporting local businesses won’t want to miss Wednesday afternoon's open house at the Chesapeake Bay Roasting Co. (CBRC) in Crofton.
CBRC hosts these open houses monthly and considers them a way to thank the local community for their support, said Michael Waldon, creative director for CBRC.
“Our goal with each monthly open house is to invite the community to come see firsthand why we are the region's finest coffee,” Waldon said.
September's open house will take place from 4-7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Guests will have the chance to tour the roastery, sample regionally brewed coffee and take a taste of some coffee-flavored ice cream.
“Our slogan is 'Taste the Difference, Making a Difference.' We love for our neighbors to have the chance to taste our premium local coffees and then learn more about the ways we are making an impact in our community,” Waldon said.
Founded in 2002, CBRC’s mission is to produce quality coffee and to preserve the Chesapeake Bay, with 2 percent of its sales going to groups that work to restore the bay. The brand debuted in one Whole Foods Market in February 2010 and is now available in all 42 stores in the region.
CBRC is at 2100 Concord Blvd., Crofton. No RSVPs are required for the open house.
