Coal Fire Pizza To Open Tuesday
The newest addition to Waugh Chapel Towne Centre will offer artisan pizzas, pasta dishes, salads and sandwiches.
If you are in the mood for homemade pizza on a crispy crust, or maybe some baked mac and cheese amped up with lump crab meat, then add the Coal Fire restaurant at Waugh Chapel Towne Centre to your list of restaurants to try.
Coal Fire will make it's debut at 5 p.m. Tuesday, according to managers and employees who were busy setting up the place this weekend. The restaurant is known for its homemade sauces—a classic Italian with a plum tomato taste, a signature sauce that is slightly sweet and spicy and a spicy sauce that will "command your attention" according to the menu.
Coal Fire's online menu offers some interesting and taste-worthy choices such as their "Ring of Fire" pizza made with banana peppers, Italian sausage, spicy sauce and fresh mozzarella.
The restaurant's ovens uses anthracite coal, an environmentally friendly coal that is extracted from old coal mines in northeastern Pennsylvania. The chain also has locations in Ellicott City, Frederick and Gaithersburg.
The average price for an entree is $15 and a children's menu is available.

They only have a pasta menu for kids which sucks because our son wanted cheese pizza so our only option was to get a 12 inch pizza just for him. Family of three two pizzas and 2 soft drinks $50.

$50 - that's insane. Remember Eritrea? That was where Italian Market is now - Italian Market was where 4 Seasons Grille is. Eritrea - very good, but very pricey Italian Restaurant. Didn't last long.

Boy oh boy are they doing a great job. I am a pizza snob and it is one of the best pizzas I have ever had. 3 choices of sauces, everything fresh. Have eaten there the past 2 nights....have a great picture if you had a place to put it....happy hour...pizzas are 1/2 price in bar area...great deal!

My daughter and I went to Coal Fire the other day. Not impressed at all. Skimpy is too generous a word to describe it. $20 for a 12" pizza and 2 iced teas that didn't even fill us. No where near enough toppings - sprinkling of cheese and so little sauce that upon baking was more like a spread of tomato paste than sauce. Will not be returning. They will not last in this area if they don't up their game but quick!
