Committee To Review Redistricting Options in Crofton
An organizational meeting will be held next week. The group also could discuss plans for the proposed elementary school to serve the Two Rivers development.
A special committee on Monday will begin reviewing options to alleviate overcrowding at schools in Crofton, and will also examine the potential boundaries of a proposed new elementary school.
The committee, which will include parents, school officials and community leaders, will look at redistricting options involving Nantucket, Crofton, Crofton Meadows, and Crofton Woods elementary schools, as well as their feeder schools.
The committee also will examine the proposed "Evergreen Elementary School," which developers have offered to build in order to expand school capacity in west Anne Arundel County.
The first meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Nantucket Elementary School. The committee also is scheduled to meet on the following dates:
- Oct. 2 at Crofton Middle School
- Oct. 9 at Crofton Meadows Elementary
- Oct. 16 at Crofton Elementary
- Oct. 23 at Crofton Woods Elementary
- Oct. 30 at Crofton Meadows Elementary
