Crofton Bosses Go All Out For Administrative Professional's Week

Some Crofton bosses have special plans to show their employees how much they appreciate them for Administrative Professional's Week April 24-30, 2012.

Celeste Watkins is the friendly voice you hear when you call to make an appointment at Bingham-Lester Dentistry in Crofton. However, this Wednesday at lunch time she will be "out to lunch" thanks to her boss Dr. Vickii Bingham-Lester.

Administrative Professional's Day or Secretary's Day is April 27, but many companies observe the celebration the entire week of April 24-30 2012

This is a chance when a boss can take time to let his or her secretary or administrative assistant know just how important they are to the day-to-day operations of the office.  It also is a way recognized the importance and value of the position to a company or business.

“Last year Vickii took me out to lunch at the . It was a wonderful lunch. She also sent flowers. She is such a kind person and it makes me feel very appreciated. It is always nice to be shown appreciation,” said Watkins. “I have been working here since they opened the practice. It is a wonderful office and Vickii is a great boss,” the Crofton resident added.

Many local parents say good morning to Jana Boddy every morning. She is the front office administrator at Beaver Creek Day Care.

“Last year Janet Dickens gave everyone a gift certificate to get their nails done. What a luxury! After establishing the school over 15 years ago, Janet knows how to take care of her staff,” said the Piney Orchard resident.

Boddy said, not only does the owner appreciate her but so do the parents of the day care children. “Parents bring in doughnuts and coffee. Or have an Edible Arrangement delivered to our office,” said the appreciative Boddy.

The senior team lead who works the front desk at Crofton Pediatrics says “Although we get treated to pizzas and treats through out the year, usually on Administrative Professionals Day we are treated to a large cake as well,” said Carrie Decker. “Working here is like working with family; we enjoy coming to work and it does feel great to be appreciated,” said Decker.

Just down the road at Family Veterinary on Davidsonville Road, Elaine Howerton says although they feel appreciated all year, on Administrative Professionals Day they are treated to a chocolate delight.

“Every year Patrick gives the staff a large chocolate dipped strawberry from Godiva. It is wonderful, just divine!” said long time office manager Howerton. “It really does make us feel appreciated. It says ‘I notice that you are doing a job well done.’ To me it says "I'm noticed."

Everyone wants to feel that way about their job; I’m just lucky enough to work at place that makes me feel appreciated,” said Howerton.
