VIDEO: Crofton Middle Student Wins Bowie Baysox Contest
There was a surprise ending to a poster contest geared at getting youths to read. Bowie Baysox officials found a creative way reveal the winner at Crofton Middle School.
A Crofton Middle School student’s artistic abilities won her a chance to show off her athletic agility at an upcoming Bowie Baysox game.
Seventh-grader Caroline Kerr won the Baysox Read and Hit a Home Run poster contest. Caroline designed a poster to motivate fellow youths to read and win tickets to Bowie Baysox games.
Baysox mascot “Louie” stopped by the middle school to help surprise Caroline with the news.
VIDEO: Bowie Baysox representative Kate Milstead reads a poem to surprise Crofton Middle School’s Caroline Kerr.
The Read and Hit a Home Run program rewards students with one free ticket for every four books they read.
Caroline will throw out the first pitch at a Baysox game on May 5.

Ladies thank you so very much. Caroline was SO surprised! The room was super excited for the rally. I hope he throws a fast ball at the Baysox game. As always, it's been a pleasure serving this community.
