Dick's Sporting Goods To Open Wednesday

The retailer is the latest to open in the new Waugh Chapel Towne Centre.

 

The Dick's Sporting Goods store in Waugh Chapel Towne Centre is scheduled to open Wednesday, followed by a three-day grand opening celebration starting  Friday morning

A ribbon-cutting is set for 8 a.m. Friday at the new store at 1417 South Main Chapel Way. The first customers who visit the store will receive a free Reebok T-shirt while supplies last. 

The store will give out wristbands starting at 8 a.m. Saturday to those who want to meet Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith and Washington Redskins defensive back Josh Wilson. On Saturday, Smith will make an appearance from 11 a.m. to noon and Wilson will be at the store from 1-3 p.m. The store will also give away Columbia T-shirts while supplies last.  

On Sunday, Ravens defensive lineman Terrence Cody will make an appearance at the store from 1-3 p.m. Wristbands will be handed out starting at 9 a.m. The first 100 customers in line Sunday who are 18 or older will receive "mystery" gift cards with values ranging from $5 to $500, with one person winning a $500 gift card.

Store hours for the three-day grand opening weekend are as follows:

Friday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

it won't be in business in 5 years as it is one of the worst run stores I have ever been in! Their pricing and checkout computers always have some issue. You feel like you are in some third world country bartering at checkout everytime. I'd rather buy a car.

Hunting department personell seems to know everything there ever was to know about hunting fishing, outdoor sports and anything firearm related. Yet do not have MD hunting licenses or fishing licenses. No information available about safety training either.
I found the person who is usually in charge there to be just a little rude so I thought I would post what I found out.
