UPDATE (3:15 p.m.)—Anna Lamont, a student at Nantucket Elementary, was recently named the winner in a Mother's Day essay contest that received more than 500 entries.
"The essays made you cry, laugh out loud and simply smile at the genuine love for all the Moms in our community," wrote Joy Hutter, who does marketing and community relations for the Chick-fil-A at Waugh Chapel.
All students who entered received a free Chick-fil-A chocolate chunk cookie. The Lamont family had dinner delivered by the Chick-fil-A cow to their home and received a string of pearls valued at $525 from Little Treasury Jewelers. Second- and third-place winners also received food from Chick-fil-A.
