Police Arrest Severn Man in String of Burglaries
Anne Arundel police arrested a Severn man, claiming he is responsible for the theft of jewelry from several homes.
A Severn man has been charged in connection with a series of burglaries in west Anne Arundel County, authorities said.
County police said they arrested Thomas Christopher Freeman, 52, alleging that he is responsible for at least five burglaries in Odenton, Severn and Gambrills over the last six weeks.
Police said they were able to track down Freeman following the burglary of a home on Maple Road in Gambrills on Sept. 4. Police said a unique piece of jewelry stolen from that home later turned up at the Gold Rush jewelry store in Hanover.
Police said they were then able to identify a suspect and got a warrant to search his home. After a search on Sept. 19, police said they found jewelry not only from the Maple Road burglary but at least four other local burglaries.
Freeman has been charged with four different counts of burglary and three different counts of theft, police said.
