POLL: Will You Visit Maryland Live!?
The new casino and entertainment complex near Arundel Mills opened Wednesday.
It's finally here. After years of discussion and months of construction, the new Maryland Live! casino opened near Arundel Mills in Hanover on Wednesday night.
Click here for an opening night photo gallery on Odenton-Severn Patch.
The casino will eventually offer more than 4,000 slot and gaming machines, plus live entertainment and an array of restaurants and shops.
For many people, Maryland Live! will be the place to be, as it offers one of the few places to gamble in the state. Other people won't go anywhere near the place.
Do you plan to check out Maryland Live!? If so, how often do you think you'll come back?

Greed for money is why this was built at the mall and not at the race track as we were told it would be and the crime will continue to rise in that MALL, shoppers beware do not shop at that mall either! I feel bad for the residents in that area who made a good effort to fight the big money and power of Cordish, Leopold and his Union cronies...they will pay in the end but the residents are paying for it now....and so it goes....

Maryland Live = Nightmare! My husband and I inadvertantly passed through the area last night - took 2.5 hours to get to Severna Park. Due to closed roads and exits, we had to pass by the Mall. Where were the police? We sat at one intersection at Arundel Mills Blvd and Arundel Mills Circle for over 15 minutes STUCK in the middle of the intersection. We called 911 and pleaded for police. They said they were "there", but we saw no police on 295 (where people were driving at high speeds in the opposite direction). No police at Mall entrance where people were ignoring the lights. No police in the lots being used as roads and tailgate parties with people drinking at cars. No police stopping people from entering the construction zone trying desperately to go south on 295. I overheard someone say this morning that she and her friend went to the casino, parked "in a neighborhood a mile away" and couldn't get in. So, they came back to their car (at 1am) and "partied" (I am sure the homeowner loved that at 1am). We were unintended visitors and will NEVER go back. Furthermore, I will try to avoid the mall completely if I can. The police are probably not funded or staffed to handle this. Neither are our roads. There is a reason why most casinos are well outside of cities with miles of cement lots and garages. Let's hope this is not a sign of things to come

And we wonder why the residents of the communities surrounding Arundel Mills didn't want that thing built! Well at least all that money flowing in will keep our taxes low and remember it's for the children...wait....what?

What a madhouse! Inside was packed in some places where the food and drinks were…and that was at 7:00 p.m. for the pre show show. The casino didn't open to the general public until 10:00 p.m. I went with my husband to see everything but we are not gamblers so will not be going back. It was very theatrical with the costumes and glitz and glamour.

They should install ballot booths there so Obama's supporters don't have to leave...

I'm definitely interested. I'll eventually go but I'll wait for the excitement of everything to die down first. I'm sure it's a mad house now.

I'm only going to go to pick up the hookers. Hopefully they will be better then the typical slots that hang out there.
