Public Hearing on Tuesday Will Address Redistricting
The public will be able to ask questions about the proposal by a developer to redistrict the Enclave of Reidel Pond, an undeveloped property in Crofton.

A public hearing Tuesday night will allow residents to testify about two redistricting proposals—including one that involves moving students in the future from Nantucket Elementary to Crofton Meadows Elementary and from Crofton Middle to Arundel Middle.
The Board of Education will take public testimony starting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at South River High School, located at 201 Central Ave. in Edgewater.
The proposal involving Crofton students was made by a developer to redistrict the Enclave of Reidel Pond, an undeveloped property. The community is currently planned as an age-restricted, 182-home subdivision for those age 55 and older, according to a release from Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS). The developer wants to convert the community to non-age restricted but that requires approval of the redistricting proposal to avoid overcrowding local schools.
The other redistricting proposal involves Central, Davidsonville and Mayo elementary schools.
The board will make a decision on these redistricting proposals no later than April 30, according to a release from AACPS.
