Singers Can Fulfill Dream of Performing in Ballpark
Both the Bowie Baysox and the Washington Nationals are holding auditions on March 10 for performers to sing the national anthem before a home game.
Step away from the mirror and put the hairbrush microphone down. Your chance to sing in front of a crowd has arrived. The Bowie Baysox and the Washington Nationals will both hold auditions on March 10 for performers to sing the national anthem before a game during the 2012 season.
The Baysox will host live auditions at Prince George's Stadium on March 10 with registration at 9 a.m. and auditions starting at 9:30 a.m. More than 60 people auditioned last year to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner." One of the most popular local performers in 2011 was Nashville recording artist Ashley Forrest of Crofton. For more information, see the Baysox website.
The Nats will also hold their auditions on March 10 but applicants are required to submit a resume (audio or video performance) along with a recent photo to anthem@nationals.com. Those selected will receive an invitation to audition live at Nationals Park starting at 10 a.m. For full details, see the Washington Nationals website.
The Baltimore Orioles have not announced a date for live auditions, but are currently accepting CDs and DVDs via mail or email perform@orioles.com.

Thanks Susan; I did have a great time singing The Star-Spangled Banner last year at the Baysox game. I wonder if they'll want me to sing it again this year? It would be great to sing in Bowie again, and also for the Orioles and Nats! Be safe, Ashley F.
