'The Hobbit’ Opens Friday at Waugh Chapel

Before Frodo and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, there was another epic tale from Middle Earth.
"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" opens one minute past midnight at the new Regal Waugh Chapel Stadium 12 in Gambrills.
According to IMDB.com, the movie follows the story of "a curious Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, (who) journeys to the Lonely Mountain with a vigorous group of Dwarves to reclaim a treasure stolen from them by the dragon Smaug."
The fantasy film based in a land of elves, wizards and hobbits starts with showings just after midnight on Friday, Dec. 14.
The film debuts in IMAX, 3D and 2D at Regal Waugh Chapel Stadium 12 at 12:01 a.m. Friday.
Tickets can be purchased on the show's website from Fandango.
An IMAX ticket costs $17.25, a ticket for the 3D show is $14.25 and a 2D ticket is $10.75. (Note: Some shows may be sold out already, so check in advance.)
