Prepare to slow down near the Waugh Chapel South development. New traffic signals are operating on Maryland Route 3 near the upcoming shopping center.

If you're used to speeding along Crain Highway from Johns Hopkins Road up to the Village at Waugh Chapel, you may want to slow down. 

Drivers headed northbound on Maryland Route 3 near the Waugh Chapel South development may notice a traffic change.

Stop lights are now present on Crain Highway near the Crofton Village Apartments between Johns Hopkins Road and Wellfleet Lane.

Wegmans, Target and Dick's Sporting Goods are among the retail shops slated to open on the land this spring according to Greenberg Gibbons Commercial’s website.

The traffic lights are just the latest roadway changes near the shopping area. A Michigan U-turn opened in October near Waugh Chapel Road.

Route 3 in Gambrills is no stranger to traffic congestion. Last Thursday, utility work on the road near Saint Stephens Church Road snarled traffic as far back as Davidsonville Road.

It's already miserable and getting worse. 4 traffic lights (5 if you're headed south) right on top of each other is miserable.
