Finally! Writing instruction with struggling and reluctant writers in mind!

With the implementation of the Common Core State Standards, writing has been pushed to the forefront. This session highlights intervention instructional techniques which support students who have difficulty in writing. The teaching techniques described are research-based and designed to improve students' written expression and spelling. The presenter begins with the research base, and offers a practical, easy-to-implement model that can be used to guide struggling and reluctant writers. Included will be model lessons, suggested mentor texts, and student writing samples. The target audience for this event would be classroom teachers.
