ASA Premier 99 Player Selected for Region 1 Team

Starting center midfielder for the ASA Premier 99 U15 girls soccer team and incoming freshman at Seton Keough High School in Baltimore, Katie Hoffman, was selected as a Region 1 Olympic Development Program (ODP) player last weekend. Following a  highly competitive 4 day ID camp at the University of Rhode Island, Katie was one of 48 players chosen out of approximately 800 players from the 15 Youth State Soccer Associations that comprise Region 1.

The US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program was formed in 1977 to identify a pool of players in each age group from which a National Team will be selected for international
competition. Region 1 ODP identifies elite level players in ME, NH, CT, NYE, NYW, NJ, MD, DC, DE, VA, PAE, PAW, RI, VT, and WV  and facilitates their selection to U.S. National
Team programs. The ODP selection process takes place through state, regional and national trials. The primary benefit to the player is to be able to train and play against the best players
in their age group which allows players to maximize their further development as soccer players.

In January, Katie will travel to Boca Raton FL where she will compete in the National ID camp for a position in the ODP U.S. National Team Pool.
