Crofton Native Laces up with Goodwill’s Boston Marathon Team

Meet Boston University physical therapy doctoral student, Carolyn Harper! She will be running on April 21st with Goodwill’s Boston Marathon Team, Running For Great Kids.  This amazing group of 23 runners, which Harper is proud to be a part of, come from across the country with the common goal to raise money for Goodwill’s Youth Initiative.

“The events of last year combined with my long-term desire to run the marathon meant that I was going to do whatever it took to run the marathon this year,” shares Harper.  “They [Goodwill] accomplish amazing things with their program [Youth Initiative] and I am thrilled to be raising money for their cause.”

Through after-school programs, mentoring partnerships, and summer camp opportunities, Goodwill’s Youth Initiative helps youth in underserved Boston communities prepare for adulthood while focusing on improving their academic skills and building aspirations.

Harper manages to find time in her busy schedule of studying, dancing, and triathlon training to fundraise and run on behalf of this admirable program.  She admits that running actually helps her studies, preventing her from procrastinating.

All funds raised go directly to Goodwill's Youth Initiative so show your support for Carolyn’s hard work as well as the youth of Boston and visit http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/CarolynHarper/2014 today!
