CRCC News and Notes 8/29/11

News from the Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC).

The search is on for a new webmaster to design the CRCC web site. This is a top priority for the Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC). If you have, or know someone who has, the knowledge and experience to take this job on, they should call Steve Grimaud at 240-753-5380 or email at stevegrimaud@yahoo.com.

CRCC newsletters with contact names and numbers can be found at the Crofton Library or at Town Hall. If anyone wants to be included on the mailing list, they should call Donna Doyle at 410-793-3896 or email at doyle1718@comcast.net. The next newsletter will come out in October.

Coming up next will be the CRCC appearance at the annual Crofton Arts and Crafts Fair at the Crofton Country Club's north parking lot on Sept. 24. This is always a big affair for the CRCC and many items of interest to the community will be offered as well as raffles. People are encouraged to come see the conceptional drawings of the community center, give us your opinions  and ask your questions. Final floor plans, budget projections and site rendering (feasibility study) for the center will not  be ready until the middle of October.

The CRCC Citizen of the Year will be announced at the Nov. 4 Crofton Community Awards banquet at the Crofton Country Club. Other groups will be doing the same. Tickets will soon go on sale. This event is organized by the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce and Crofton Town Hall.

The list keeps growing for authors who will attend the Nov. 12 Book Lovers Auction and Children's Free Festival. In September, watch for the flyers on this. The special price of $5 is for the first 50 people to buy tickets. After that the price rises to $10. Buy early and save. This is a chance to have a good time, as well as shop early for Christmas. Call Rev. Shawn Jegede at 443-302-9598 to reserve your tickets.
