Community Center Funding Update

The Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC) is just now getting into second gear. Grants are being applied for. Serious fundraising has started. The foundation is solid and firmly laid. Now we can roll up our sleeves and get down to serious work.

Seeing Severna Park in Crofton?

Did you know that the CRCC community center is modeled after the Severna Park one? Their center and how they run it is similar to what we plan. No, we won't have a swimming pool, but all else is the same idea that we have.

It took them many years to get fully developed and open and they are amazed that we have come this far in so short a time. To the Crofton area what we have accomplished may not seem like much, but to do it right, many details had to be taken care of first so that the foundation is solid and without any cracks. Now, watch us soar!

If each and every business would commit to a small amount, they can say they have been a part of this and receive recognition. If each and every family pledged a small amount monthly or even annually, they can honestly say the community center is truly theirs. If all fundraisers were supported by everyone, the money raised would make a big difference. And as our list of volunteers grows, we can do more.

I urge each and every one in this area to support the community center by sending in a pledge of help or dollars. Think of what would work best for you. Perhaps you could spare a small amount each month. Perhaps you'd prefer an annual donation. Maybe, just one time. Make the Crofton-area Community Center truly yours by supporting it in one of several different ways. See our web site for more information.

Family Photo Fundraiser Continues

For every $50 donation to the CRCC, a free photo session is offered by Linda McCarthy of Visual Concepts, with a free 11-by-14-inch free photo, special pricing on all package deals, including holiday cards, and a chance to win a free 24-by-30-inch custom canvas wall photo. Time is running out on this generous offer. Call Linda at 410-626-7474 today.

Sweetheart’s Ball Feb. 16

Feb. 16, 2012 - The Second Annual Sweetheart's Ball will be held again at the Blue Dolphin Restaurant Banquet Room. This special formal event will have many of the same features as last year. Hopefully, there will be no lack of power due to a natural catastrophe this year. For the price of $150 a couple ($100 a person) you may enjoy a wonderful meal, champagne, entertainment, dancing and a silent auction, to name only a few of the many attractions. Donations are being sought for the silent auction. Remember that we are a nonprofit, tax-free organization. For more information, contact John Hollywood at 301-261-3515.
