Crofton Craft Fair Under New Management

While the group sponsoring the Crofton Craft Fair is changing, the event itself will be largely unchanged.

The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce has assumed responsibility for the bi-annual Crofton Arts & Craft Fair.

“This has been a terrific event that brings the community together to have a good time,” said Judy Wilson, executive director for the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce.

“I want to reassure the community and vendors that we’re going to keep what’s been established as a great event,” Wilson said. There may be a few small changes, such as allowing a limited numbers of local businesses to have a display, but the basic character of the event will remain unchanged, Wilson said

Erika Cadori, who has organized the event for the Town Club for the last few years, has been working with the Chamber to pass on information.

“We want to assure continuity for the event,” said Kim Ritter, president of the Town Club. “We’ve even turned over the signs, so people won’t even see a difference in those,” Ritter said.

“The fair has been an incredible amount of work, and we longer have a volunteer level that is able to support it,” she said. “It’s a great event and it may even be better because the Chamber has a lot more manpower to support it,” she said.

The Town Club assumed management of the Craft Fair in 1996 and has been organizing it until the recent transfer. The Craft Fair is held on the last Saturday of April and September each year.

The next fair will be on Saturday, September 24 in the parking lot of the Crofton Country Club. Dominic Scine, who is a board member for the Chamber, will be organizing the event. Interested craft and food vendors and businesses who would like more information can contact Scine at dscine@scineaccounting.com.
