One Person Dead in Crash on Route 3 - Celeste Leffingwell Loftin, 73, died in the crash heading southbound on Route 3. The incident happened just two months after a triple fatal collision near the same location, but police said the circumstances of the crashes were very different.
Driver in Fatal Crash Was Texting, Prosecutors Say - The March 10 crash involving the death of a motorcyclist resulted in the arrest of a Severn woman, who is accused of using her cell phone while driving. A status conference in the case is scheduled for January.
Land on Defense Highway Could Switch from Rural to Commercial - The county administrative officer heard arguments that a piece of land on Defense Highway should have been re-zoned to allow for commercial development. Nearby residents opposed the effort, and the county agreed, keeping the land rural.
