Texting, Indian Food and Air Marshals: Crofton's Top Stories from October

Patch continues to count down the top stories from 2013.

From now through New Year's Day, Patch is counting down the most-read and most interesting stories in the Crofton area. Today, we take a look at the top stories from October. 

One Person Dead in Crash on Route 3 - Celeste Leffingwell Loftin, 73, died in the crash heading southbound on Route 3. The incident happened just two months after a triple fatal collision near the same location, but police said the circumstances of the crashes were very different. 

Driver in Fatal Crash Was Texting, Prosecutors Say - The March 10 crash involving the death of a motorcyclist resulted in the arrest of a Severn woman, who is accused of using her cell phone while driving. A status conference in the case is scheduled for January. 

Land on Defense Highway Could Switch from Rural to Commercial - The county administrative officer heard arguments that a piece of land on Defense Highway should have been re-zoned to allow for commercial development. Nearby residents opposed the effort, and the county agreed, keeping the land rural. 

Air Marshal From Crofton Accused of Taking Upskirt Pics - The Air Marshal was relieved of his duties and charged with disorderly conduct after Nashville police said he took pictures of woman as they boarded a plane. 

Friends and Family Operate New Indo-Pak Supermarket - Curry and ghee fill the aisles of this new Crofton store, run by two best friends with a love of family and food.
