Meet the Author: Valerie Ormond

The (CRCC) is holding their 2nd Annual Book Lovers Auction on November 12 in Crofton. MD at the Banquet Room from 4-7 pm. This is to raise funds for a community center in Crofton, MD.  

Valerie Ormond spent the majority of her adult life as a Naval Intelligence Officer. The daughter of two English majors, and an English major herself, she always had a great interest in books and writing. 

Just prior to her retirement from the Navy, someone suggested she turn an idea she had into a children’s book, and from there her second career began. 

Her first novel, Believing In Horses, tells the story of a young girl saving unwanted horses. A lifelong horse enthusiast, Valerie has enjoyed bringing horses into people’s lives who may not have otherwise been exposed to horses.

She lives with her husband Jaime Navarro, a retired Navy pilot and current management consultant, in, Maryland. They enjoy the company of both of their wonderful families and their three horses, Chance, Billy, and Lucky, and their two dogs, Diego and Princess.

The CRCC is a non-profit, tax-free organization. At the same time in the outside parking lot, there will be a free Children's Festival and an antique car show.
