Board to Vote on Crofton School Projects

Expansion plans at Crofton Middle School and Crofton Meadows Elementary School are expected to move forward.

The Anne Arundel County Board of Education will vote Wednesday on a series of contracts relating to renovations and expansion at schools in Crofton.

The board is expected to approve a  $3.74 million contract for a 12-room classroom addition at Crofton Middle School. The contract will be awarded to Desbuild, Inc. with an expected completion date of December, 2014.

The board will also vote on a $2.05 million contract for a kindergarten addition at Crofton Meadows Elementary School. The contract is also expected to be awarded to Desbuild, Inc., and the work is scheduled to be completed by April.

The school board will meet at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at its main building at 2644 Riva Rd., Annapolis.

Editor's note: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated one of the schools getting a kindergarten addition. The $2.05 million contract for the addition is related to Crofton Meadows Elementary School. Patch regrets the error.
