What is Eating Clean?

Clean Food to be Eating

I hear all the time from friends of mine what is clean eating? What are clean foods to eat? Well for one if it comes in a wrapper and has a laundry list of ingredients, half of which you cannot even pronounce then my bet is it is not clean. I like to think of clean eating is really just picking whole foods or even eating like the cavemen ate "Paleo" eating well with some complex carbs thrown in. Today I decided to help out clear up confusion and list some clean food options.

Lean Proteins: Skinless chicken breast, Ground Turkey, Lean beef, Fish, Eggs, Egg Whites, Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese

Complex Carbs: Oatmeal, Brown rice, Sweet Potatoes, Ezeckiel Bread/Muffins, Low carb Tortillas, Black Beans

Veggies: Spinach, Asparagus, Broccoli, Green beans, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, squash, salad greens, cauliflower, cabbage, kale

Now these are just some of the clean foods that I eat. You just pick from each group and you have a meal. It really is that easy girls. I am sure I have left out some things but this is a good start. Now hit the grocery store and stay on the perimeter of the store for the healthy goodies.

If you need additional help with making the correct choices for your specific needs, one of the services I offer in my Women's Fitness Coaching is Nutrition Meal Plans to take the guess work out of am I eating the right things. Especially for busy women who do not have the time.
