5 Local Spots for Valentine's Day Gifts

There's less than a week until Valentine's Day, but the good news is that there are plenty of places nearby with great gifts for sale.

If you want to do something more than buy flowers for your loved one on Feb. 14, there are plenty of places you can go locally to pick up that special  gift.

From custom gift baskets to fine jewelry, you should be able to find something nice for your significant other.

Here are five local places I recommend for Valentine's Day gift shopping.

—Of course, this is the place to go for cards. But there’s also a great selection of small gifts like stuffed animals, music boxes and pewter pendants. If you buy three cards, you can get a stuffed, singing monkey for just $14.95. Nothing says “I love you” like a singing monkey.

660 Chapel Lake Dr., Gambrills

—This locally owned shop has a wide array of gift ideas, including items you won’t find anywhere else. Talk to owner Janet Garman about a custom-made gift basket. This week, the store is having special classes on flower arranging and Valentine's Day crafts for kids.

865 Annapolis Rd., Gambrills.

—If you’re looking to pamper someone you love, check out the spa here in Odenton. There are gift cards available for purchase on the website for hair, nail and skin care.

1215 Annapolis Rd., Odenton

Home Goods—There are a wealth of gift ideas here, from furnishings for the house to baskets and cooking accessories. If you’re still feeling uninspired, the store sells gift cards.

2618 Chapel Lake Dr., Gambrills

—This is the place for the grand gesture. Little Treasury has some of the most unique jewelry around, including an excellent selection of fine watches. If you spend at least $250 before Valentine’s Day, you’ll get a free dozen roses from Little House of Flowers in Gambrills. The store also has special Sunday hours on Feb. 12.

2506 New Market Ln., Gambrills
