Annual Shrimp Feast Moved to September

Tickets are now being sold for the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce's Annual Shrimp Feast.

The Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce (GCCC) will hold its sixth annual shrimp feast at the Blue Dolphin on Friday, Sept. 9 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“This is a great opportunity to bring the community together to have a good time,” said Judy Wilson, GCCC Executive Director.

The event, for adults 21 and older, features door prizes, raffles, games and music. It is normally held on a Saturday in April, but this year for the first time, the event is being moved to a Friday in September. People have been asking about it, said Wilson, “it’s “become quite a community event.”

It originally started as a fundraiser to benefit the Chamber's education initiatives. The shrimp feast also features a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Klocko Scholarship Fund. John Klocko founded the Greater Crofton Council, served on the Anne Arundel County Council and played a large role in securing funding for the Crofton library. He died unexpectedly in 2002.

Tickets are $39 and must be purchased by Sept. 2. To order tickets, call 410-721-9131 or email info@croftonchamber.com
