Landowners in the Crofton area are seeking a special exception to construct an assisted living facility near the corner of Johns Hopkins Road and Riedel Road.

The county's administrative officer will review the request next month to construct the facility on land currently zoned as residential. The facility would be built south of the intersection of Johns Hopkins and Riedel. It is a spot that has been used as a popular sledding hill

The application was submitted by Severn Run LLC and Hole-in-One, LLC.

An administrative hearing is scheduled for Feb. 25 at 11 a.m.

I live a few blocks away, and can tell you traffic is already a headache getting around that place, not to mention Johns Hopkins turns into a two-lane road. Not appropriate location for any commercial establishment, any idea where the hearing is? Or know how we can protest?

Just want to remind everyone that the hearing is set for June 24th @ 11am in the Arundel center, it's been postponed twice, so it's likely this sessions will take place. Very hard to think about the winter now, but this move is permanent would have loved to take my kid skiing on the hill when he is older
