Roundz Catering Brings Gourmet To Thanksgiving

Croftonite Chef Zachary Pope explains how his small business Roundz Catering makes It easy to have bountiful holiday.

  • Don’t have time to arrange a stylish Thanksgiving dinner?
  • Between all the fall activities are you also trying to plan a big family meal?
  • Does the thought of spending your holidays in a hot kitchen cooking and cleaning send you running for more hard spiced cider?

If so, it may be time to think about using a caterer. Gone are the days when caterers were only thought of for weddings. Now many people are using them for family holidays as well.

, a Crofton resident and owner of Roundz Catering, works directly with his clients to design the catering experience they desire, whether large, small, in-home, casual or formal, with no pre-set menu.

Roundz is already a well-established catering business, in operation for seven years in the Maryland-DC-Virginia area.  Every year they offer a rich menu of carry-out holiday dinners for families who love the taste of gourmet food but don’t have the time to shop, prepare and cook.

Pope says, typically, a Roundz holiday meal for a family of four featuring a protein, two sides and a soup is around $50.  The Roundz website has a wide-selection of menu items.

For example: Sweet Potatoes with Apricots and Pecans; Bacon and Mustard Cabbage or Brussels Sprouts; Apple Fennel Soup and Herb Roasted Turkey Breast.

Pope added, “If you prefer something other than traditional turkey, try Coq Au Vin (red wine marinated chicken) along with Carrot Orange Soup, Black Beluga Lentils with Aromatic Vegetables and Apple Braised Fennel.”

“Thanksgiving is about counting blessings, and we have much to be thankful for this year.  With a grand opening date set for Thursday, November 17, the Roundz staff and I are looking forward to welcoming the community into our new space at 2299 Johns Hopkins Road, Gambrills,” said Pope.

Pope will host the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local officials at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 17.  He says it will kick off three days of special events.  Visitors will enjoy free samples of Roundz spices and other items, a “Name that Food” challenge, cooking demonstrations, and face painting on Saturday, Nov. 19.

“Roundz will also collect non-perishable food items to benefit local needy families. Make a donation and receive a coupon for a free Roundz custom-roasted coffee or freshly brewed tea,” said Pope.

Orders for Thanksgiving meals must be placed by Sunday, November 20 and picked up at the new Roundz Gourmet Market by Wednesday, November 23.  Call Roundz Gourmet Market at 443.292.4631 or email info@roundz.com for more information.
