Bubbles Salon is the Newest Waugh Chapel Addition

The full-service salon opened Friday, just in time for Easter and the rush of the spring season.

A new hair salon has opened at the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre, giving Crofton residents a new place to get a cut or style.

Bubbles for Hair opened Friday next to the Starbucks at Waugh Chapel. It is the 38th location for the hair salon chain, which is based in Vienna, VA.

"This is such a great town center with a lot of opportunities," said Amy Sommerhoff, Bubbles' marketing director.

Bubbles offers a wide range of hair services, from cuts to coloring. The salon employs about 20 stylists, all of whom have cosmetology degrees and in-house training from Bubbles. Stylists also attend periodic specialized trainings in New York, as part of a partnership with L'Oreal.

Sommerhoff said several of the stylists came fromt the Bowie location, which will remain open.

Customers who come in this weekend will get a goodie bag. Appointments are recommended but not required.

Sommerhoff said the salon serves women and men, but the core clientele is women between ages 25 and 55. She said she expects the salon to be busy this weekend due to Easter, and will take advantage of high school prom season during the spring.
