Celebrate National Margarita Day in Crofton

It's 5 o'clock somewhere.

Friday is National Margarita Day, giving us all a chance to celebrate the greatness of the tequila-based beverage.

There are plenty of spots in Crofton to grab a decent Margarita during Happy Hour. (Or even earlier...hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?)

Fay Boys in Crofton is a local favorite. Last year, readers said the Margarita at Fat Boys was the best drink in the area.

Fat Boys bartender Shirley Plews was also the overwhelming winner for "Best Bartender"in our Readers' Choice poll.

Poncho N' Pepes Mexican Grill and Tequila Bar is a logical choice for Crofton residents.

Other popular spots with lively bars include Allison's, Big Fish Grille and the Irish Channel. (Couldn't even guess what a margarita at an Irish bar might contain)

In Gambrills, you could check out Mi Casita, or you could head up to Odenton and stop by Pachanga or the new Rinconcito Mexicano. Or, head down to to the Chili's in Bowie, which is having a weekend-long margarita celebration.

If you're thinking of staying home for Margarita Day, check out these tips on making them at home, from local chef Zachary Pope.
