Crofton Resident, Dancer Wins Technology Scholarship

Ashley Strickler won the $3,000 scholarship for her interest in developing software to improve the performance of dancers

A Crofton resident and Towson University student recently won a scholarship for her work in developing software to analyze the movements of dancers.

Ashley Strickler, a junior at Towson, won the $3,000 scholarship from the Mid-Atlantic CIO Forum, a group that fosters communication between top technology professionals.

Strickler is a business management and computer science major and member of the school dance team. As part of the application process, Strickler was asked to describe how technology fit with their professional goals. She presented her plans to develop software that will evaluate the skill of dancers, similar to how some software can critique golf and baseball swings.
