Gambrills Firehouse Subs To Open in January

The new shop is being built in the Waugh Chapel Shopping Center.

It’s almost time to get fired up for Gambrills' newest sub shop.

On Jan. 21, the doors to Firehouse Subs in Waugh Chapel Shopping Center will open, according to owner and general manager Justin Stephens.

Originally slated to open in mid-December, the shop was set back by some “basic construction delays,” Stephens said.

The West Virginia native and Annapolis resident anticipates hiring 40 people initially before using a staff of 15-20 people long-term. Hiring was scheduled to begin Monday, with on-site interviews taking place.

A pair of two-hour, pre-opening giveaways are scheduled for Jan. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m., the owner said.

The store’s hours will be 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays, Stephens said. Around 100 square feet of red and gray brick patio seating is being constructed outside the shop’s entrance, and should be finished by Jan 9.
