J. King's Launches 'Charity Bartending Series'

Every Tuesday in June and July, a bartender at the restaurant will select a charity to receive 15 percent of that evening's sales

J. King's Restaurant in Gambrills has engaged its bartenders in an effort to raise money for charity in June and July. 

The restaurant has started a "Charity Bartending Series" in which bartenders select a charity to receive 15 percent of sales on Tuesday nights. 

The series kicks off Tuesday, June 4 and runs nine weeks through the end of July.

Restaurant spokesman Jessica Bobick said selected charities include the Connor Cares Foundation, GORC athletics and a group dedicated to suicide prevention. 

Bartenders have also selected musicians to donate their time for the cause, and there will be drink specials each Tuesday.
