Local Restaurateur Strikes Deal for Rockfish in Eastport

James King is buying out other investors and is expected to tweak the restaurant with a different variety of foods and lower price point.

The local owner of several restaurants including J. King's and the Green Turtle in Gambrills has struck a deal to take over the Rockfish restaurant in Eastport.

James King, who was already an investor in the restaurant, told the Capital-Gazette that's he and his partners are buying out Rockfish from Greg Casten, who owned the restaurant since 2004.

Annapolis Patch reported last week that Rockfish would change hands and likely unroll a new menu with lower price points. It closed its doors last weekend and will re-open with new branding.

King, a former state delegate, owns and operate's J. King's (formerly Kaufmann's) and is an investor in several Greene Turtle restaurants.
