Maryland Live! Boosts State Casino Revenue Again

Increases in slot and table game revenue at the Hanover casino comprised nearly all of the revenue gains in the state in November.

Maryland's casinos pulled in nearly $67 million in revenue in November, a slight uptick from October thanks to rising income from the Maryland Live! casino in Hanover. 

New revenue from table games, in particular, helped move overall casino revenue to its highest level since August and its fourth-highest monthly total to date. 

The Maryland Live! casino was the biggest moneymaker in the state, reporting $34.2 million in slots revenue and $19.1 million from table games. The table games revenue was the highest total since live games were introduced at Maryland Live! in April. 

Slots revenue at Maryland Live! was up slightly in November, from $33.4 million to $34.2 million. 

Compared to November of 2012, when table games had not yet been introduced, revenue has risen at Maryland Live! by more than $19 million, or 55 percent, according to the Maryland Lottery. 

At Hollywood Casino in Perryville, slots revenue dropped slightly from $5.9 million in October to $5.5 million in November. Table game revenue rose from $1.02 million to $1.1 million. 

At Ocean Downs, slots revenue dropped from $4.2 million to $3.5 million. 

At the Rocky Gap casino, slots revenue dipped slightly in November from $2.89 million to $2.85 million. Table game revenue also dipped from $530,000 to $474,648.

Casino Share - $32 million ($16 million from slots, $16 million from table games)
Education Trust Fund- $26 million ($22 million from slots, $4 million from table games
Horse Racing Purses- $3.1 million from slots
Local Impact Grants - $2.5 million from slots
Racetrack Renewals - $756,000 from slots
Maryland Lottery - $921,000
Small, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses - $669,754.25
