Newk's Eatery Set to Open Monday
The restaurant will open its first Maryland location next to Pier 1 at the Village at Waugh Chapel. It will specialize in soups, sandwiches, salads and pizza.
Newk's Eatery is scheduled to formally open next week, offering area residents another place to go for comfort food.
The restaurant will open its first Maryland location on Dec. 16 next to Pier 1 Imports at the Village of Waugh Chapel.
Newk's will specialize in salads, soups, oven-baked sandwiches and California-style pizza, according to a press release.
Newk's is franchise-owned. The Gambrills location will be operated by married couples Lisa Weekley and Lewis Rainone Jr., and Thomas Saia Jr. and Donna Saia. The couples have plans to open three more Newk's restaurants in the next five years in Anne Arundel County.
In addition to dining in, customers can also purchase pre-made items from a stand-up refrigerator.
As part of next week's Grand Opening, a portion of sales will go to Alex's Lemonade Stand, a charity that support research for children's cancers.
