Regal Cinemas Planned For New Waugh Chapel Project
The theater would have 12 screens and serve as another anchor to the 1.2 million-square-foot Waugh Chapel Towne Centre development.
The new Waugh Chapel Towne Centre on Route 3 will feature a 52,000-square-foot movie theater, the project’s developer announced Tuesday.
Greenberg Gibbons said the Regal Cinemas Waugh Chapel Stadium 12 feature a dozen screens and the ability to show IMAX films. It will serve as an anchor tenant to 1.2 million square feet of development.
Greenberg Gibbons previously announced that Wegmans, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Petco are planned for the project, which is located just south of the Village at Waugh Chapel in Gambrills.

In all, the Waugh Chapel Towne Centre (also referred to as Village South at Waugh Chapel) includes 650,000 square feet of retail, 380 residential units and 125,000 square feet of office space. The project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2012.
Regal Cinemas is part of Regal Entertainment Group, which operates 535 theaters nationwide.
