See Oscar Films at Waugh Chapel

The Academy Awards are announced on Sunday. It's not too late to see some of the nominated films.

If you're like me, you tune into the Academy Awards broadcast each year keenly aware that you've seen few, if any of the films nominated for "Best Picture."

The good news is that it's not too late to see some of the films in the theaters before the awards are announced. 

First, you better brush up your knowledge of the nominees.

The Regal Waugh Chapel Stadium 12 Theater in Gambrills has two of these nominees showing on the big screen.

You can see Zero Dark Thirty, about the hunt for Osama bin Laden, at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, Silver Linings Playbook, about a former mental patient trying to move on with his life, is playing at 12:40 p.m., 3:30 p.m, 6:30 p.m., and 9:20 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets are $10.75 or $7.75 for seniors. The 12:40 p.m. show of Silver Linings Playbook is $8.50.

If you can't make it to Waugh Chapel, you can check out four of the "Best Picture" nominees in one swoop by attending the Oscar Marathon at the Cinemark 24 theater at Arundel Mills. The mall theater will be showing Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, Django Unchained and Zero Dark Thirty in a row beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30.
