Wegmans Ranked Among 'Top Places to Work'
The store ranked 12th overall in the rankings. It has appeared on the top 100 every year since 1998.
Wegmans was named among the top 100 "Best Places to Work" by FORTUNE magazine, the 17th straight year it has appeared in the rankings.
The Rochester, NY supermarket chain ranked 12th overall in the 2014 version of the rankings. In its explanation of the rankings, FORTUNE noted Wegmans' opportunities for young workers.
"Flexible scheduling, an employee scholarship program, and stretch assignments help young employees grow within the company, and 66% of jobs are filled through internal promotions," FORTUNE said.
Wegmans operates a store in Gambrills, Columbia, and several other locations in Maryland.
Google ranked first in the rankings, followed by SAS and the Boston Consulting Group. Edward Jones and Quicken Loans rounded out the top 5.
