Force 3 Awards Anne Arundel County Senior with College Scholarship

Force 3, delivering the best in federal security, collaboration, next-generation networking, converged infrastructure and support solutions, today announced the winner of its scholarship competition for local high school seniors. Neelima Pradhan, a 2014 graduate of Meade High School, received $4,000 to pursue her education in a technical field.

The Force 3 Foundation holds an annual competition to support deserving students in Anne Arundel County, where the IT solutions provider is headquartered. High school students who are planning to attend an accredited college, university or technical school as a full-time student pursuing a degree in a technical field are eligible for the scholarships.

Scholarship applicants are required to submit an essay that highlights their academic achievements, commitment to community service and future educational and career goals. A Force 3 scholarship panel reviews the applications and conducts interviews with eligible students to determine the winner. This year’s winner is Neelima Pradhan.

“Neelima is an exceptionally bright young woman. In addition to her impressive academic achievements, Neelima’s work outside the classroom has shown that she is a natural leader who is driven to succeed,” said Les Trachtman, Chief Executive Officer at Force 3. “We are very proud to be able to support Neelima’s pursuit of technical education and look forward to the contributions she is sure to make to our industry.”

Neelima Pradhan, originally from Nepal, graduated from Meade High School earlier this month, where she took all of the computer science classes available to her, including Java, web design and AP computer science. In addition to her classes, Neelima played lacrosse and was an active member of the Math Club, Key Club and Meditation Club. She also served as a computer science tutor, teaching eighth-grade students Java and HTML, as well as serving her community through Happy Helpers. Neelima also participated in the Bits & Bytes Program, a UMBC program for high school girls interested in finding out more about the fields of engineering and IT.
