Leaving Town Again

"They're Back..."

Crofton Town Manager Larry Schweinsburg describes the Crofton community as the "land of the trees." The annual removal of leaves from lawns in Crofton is in full swing. With fallen leaves comes complaints that are sent to Town Hall. Crofton, however, lacks any covenants regarding the removal of leaves. Town Manager Schweinsburg states Crofton has only a lawn cutting covenant in effect from April 15th to November 15th. The only requirement when it comes to removing leaves is "good citizenship," reminds Schweinsburg.

This blog is too short to describe all the methods for removing leaves from properties. Many individuals exhibit their own personal styles for removing leaves. Some prefer to vacuum or rake the leaves into large piles. Others, like me, enjoy chopping the leaves into small pieces for easy removal. The means is not important, only the end counts in removing leaves. The proper end or "good citizenship" in Crofton is to leave X marked bags in a place for the county to pick up the bagged leaves.

More in depth coverage for the removal of leaves in Crofton will be in the upcoming newsletter The Advocate. The FY 2014 CSCBD Budget for Crofton will be in the December issue of The Advocate, too.

Happy Holidays,
And still raking leaves,
Paul
