CRCC News and Notes 10/04/11

News from the Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC).

It has been decided that the next Crofton Regional Community Newsletter (CRCC) newsletter will come out on November 1, due to a number of changes taking place. Those who would like a sneak preview can receive an advance copy at the CRCC general meeting on Oct. 27 at the Nautilus Diner.  If anyone would like to be included on our next newsletter mailing list, they should contact me at doyle1718@comcast.net or at 410-793-3896.

Web Page Help Wanted

No one has come forth to help with the CRCC web page and it's still not active on the Internet. The CRCC is now willing to pay someone for their services to get it up and going, as well as to keep it updated. Please contact John Hollywood at jhhollywood@verizon.net or at 301-261-3515. Next Meeting

The next CRCC General Meeting will be held at the Nautilus Diner on Oct. 27. The meeting starts at 7 pm, but to order food and beverages, people are urged to arrive at 6 pm. The meeting will take place in a private room and the public is urged to come and see the finished visual of the community center and hear all the details. All are invited.

Fundraisers

Thousands of flyers are being distributed for both the Photo Session as well as the Book Lovers Auction. We urge everyone to read these carefully and respond right away.

The Visual Concepts Photo session is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to benefit. With each $50 donation to the CRCC, that person is entitled to a free photo session that includes a free 11-by-14 photo, plus special pricing on holiday cards and other special packages. Besides this, that person will be part of a drawing to take place at the Sweetheart's Gala on Feb. 16 where a winner will be drawn. Winner need not be present. That winner will then receive a free 24-by-30 canvas wall photo to hang on their wall. On Nov. 4, the CRCC will honor their Citizen of the Year at the Greater Crofton Community Awards Banquet at the Crofton Country Club. Nine different organizations will honor their Citizen of the Year awards. Ticket price is $37 a person. For more information, call Judy Wilson at 410-721-9131.

The 2nd Annual Book Lovers Auction and Free Children's Festival takes place  at the Blue Dolphin Banquet Room on Nov. 12 this year and listed below are Ten good reasons why you should call now and reserve your ticket.

1. Shop early for Christmas.

2.Meet 19 authors in person.

3.Win an E-Reader.

4.Bid on hundreds of books and other items.

5.Chance to win a door prize.

6.Enjoy various snacks and beverages.

If you heard that the Sweetheart's Gala was a great affair last year, just wait for the 2012 one! Everyone is convinced this will be bigger and better than ever and something not to miss.
