Flash Flood Watch, Coastal Flood Advisory Extended

Flash flooding could occur throughout the Baltimore metro region, including Crofton, with chances of Anne Arundel County getting some coastal flooding.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch through early Wednesday morning.

Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are possible during the heavier showers and thunderstorms. Heavy rainfall could cause streams and creeks to rise quickly, causing the potential for flash flooding in urban and low-lying areas.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 2 a.m. Wednesday and a coastal flood warning is in effect from late Tuesday night until noon Wednesday. A coastal flood advisory will go back into effect Wednesday at noon until 6 a.m. Thursday.
