A man identifying himself as "Greg C." told the AMS that he saw it at 7:55 p.m. near Fort Meade.

He reported:

"i was traveling in the passenger seat heading east on rt 32 towards annapolis when i observed the bright trail. it first appeared to be a firework but the angle and intensity of the streak was too straight and bright. it lasted for about 3-4 sec and flashed slightly before trailing off. i did not hear anything because i was in a moving car. it was an intense blue/white and the tail was orange and red."

One person claiming to be from Crofton reported a sighting exactly at 8 p.m.

Due to the visibility of the meteor, it may meet the criteria of a "fireball," the Post said.
