Severe Thunderstorm Watch Wednesday
Crofton is under a severe thunderstorm watch Wednesday until 10 p.m.
The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Anne Arundel County Wednesday until 10 p.m. The hazardous weather outlook could impact the Chesapeake Bay and central Maryland counties.
According to the NWS website, Crofton will be hit with showers and thunderstorms mainly before 5 p.m. A 60 percent chance of precipitation is in the forecast.
Crofton residents can expect new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch. That amount will vary in areas that get higher and heavier thunderstorm activity.

The NWS also issued a small craft advisory for the lower tidal Potomac River and parts of the Chesapeake. This advisory extends through Thursday morning.
