Snowy Halloween Weekend?

Are you ready for snow heading into Halloween. Forecasters say a rare October snowfall is headed for the northeast this weekend. What will we get here around Crofton-Gambrills?

It's hard to believe, but snow might just get here before the trick-or-treaters.

Parts of Maryland, including Carroll County, Harford County and northern Baltimore County are already under a winter storm watch for Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Accuweather.com calls for a swath of snowfall from parts of North Carolina to New England, with accumulations ranging from 1 to 10 inches.

However, in a separate advisory, the National Weather Service pours cold water on any sledding hopes you may have, saying temperatures just won't go low enough in much of central Maryland, though higher elevations could still see snow.

However, Accuweather forecaster Alex Sosnowski says that, depending on how temperatures shake out, we could see a little bit of wet snow in our neck of the woods.

Just 2.5 inches would be enough to break Baltimore's record for October snowfall, set on Oct. 30, 1925. Baltimore's last October snowfall was three-tenths of an inch on Oct. 10, 1979, according to Accuweather.
