Repairs Necessitate Weekend Closure of MD 32 Westbound at MD 198

WHAT:
Temporary closure of westbound MD 32 (Patuxent Freeway) at MD 198 (Airfield Road/Laurel-Ft. Meade Road).

WHEN:
Beginning Friday, October 7 at 9 p.m. and continuing through the weekend until repairs are completed.

NOTE:
Times are approximate and may vary depending on weather, traffic and field conditions.

Work should be complete by Monday morning, however, additional time may be needed for proper material drying/curing and site work.

WHERE:
Westbound MD 32 at MD 198 in Anne Arundel County

DETOUR:
The work area is located between the two MD 198 ramps. Westbound MD 32 motorists will be guided off MD 32 at the MD 198 exit, through the roundabout and immediately back onto MD 32.  Detour signs will be posted.

While this is a short detour, motorists should allow additional time due to potential traffic volume increases through the roundabout.

WHY:
Utility issues contributed to a partial collapse of MD 32 between the off and on ramps for MD 198.

Temporary repairs were completed immediately and permanent repairs are slated for this weekend.
